Body, Paint & Panel
For classics, muscle cars and hot rods.
Rust repairs, accident damage, panel work and paint all need the right approach on an older car.
Viking Hotrods works on pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods with practical body, paint and panel support from our Bomaderry workshop. Whether it is one repair, a larger restoration or part of a full build, we help get the job done properly.
The Finish Matters
So does everything underneath it.
Body and paint work is not just about how the car looks at the end. On older vehicles, what is hiding underneath matters just as much.
Rust, previous repairs, old filler, accident damage and poor panel fit can all affect the final result. That is why we take a practical approach: assess the car properly, understand what needs to be repaired and work toward a finish that suits the vehicle and the owner’s goal.
We know what these cars need.
Pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods often come with a long history. Some have been repaired before. Some have hidden rust. Others have been modified, restored or repainted over the years.
Viking Hotrods understands how these vehicles are put together and what needs to be considered before bodywork, fabrication or paint support begins.

No Shortcuts
Prep is where it is won or lost.
A good paint job starts well before the colour goes on. Rust, poor repairs, damaged panels and bad preparation can all show through later.
We take the time to assess what is there, repair what needs attention and prepare the car properly before moving forward. The goal is not just to make it look right for now — it is to make sure the work is done properly from the start.
One Roof, One Plan
It’s all connected.
Body, paint and panel work is often part of a bigger project. It may connect to mechanical work, fabrication, performance upgrades, restoration work or a full custom build.
Because Viking Hotrods works across multiple areas of pre-1990 vehicles, we can help keep the work connected. That means the bodywork, paint, mechanical work and final build direction all stay aligned.

Body, Paint & Panel FAQs
Do you repair rust in classic cars?
Yes. Viking Hotrods can assist with rust repairs for pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods. Rust can vary from small localised areas through to more serious structural or panel issues, so we assess the car properly before recommending the next step.
Do you do accident repairs?
Yes. We can help with accident damage repairs on older vehicles, including panel repairs, bodywork, alignment and paint support. Older cars often need a more careful approach than modern vehicles, especially if parts, previous repairs or custom work are involved.
Do you do full resprays?
Yes. Viking Hotrods can assist with paintwork and refinishing for pre-1990 vehicles, including full resprays where suitable. The process depends on the condition of the body, previous paintwork, rust, panel fitment and the finish the owner wants to achieve.
Can body and paint work be completed as part of a larger build?
Yes. Body, paint and panel work is often part of a larger restoration, restomod or custom build. Because Viking Hotrods also works across mechanical repairs, diagnostics, performance upgrades and build support, we can help keep the whole project coordinated.
Do you work on muscle cars and hot rods?
Yes. Viking Hotrods works on pre-1990 muscle cars, hot rods, classics, customs, restomods and older project vehicles. We understand the body, paint and panel requirements that often come with older and modified cars.
Do you only do full builds?
No. We handle both smaller body and panel jobs and larger projects. Some cars come in for rust repairs, panel work or paint support, while others need body and paint work as part of a full restoration or custom build.
Can you help with previous poor repairs?
Yes. Older cars often come with previous repairs, filler, patchwork or paint issues that need to be assessed properly. We can inspect the work, explain what we find and recommend the most practical way forward.
Do you offer custom paint or colour matching?
Yes. Depending on the project, Viking Hotrods can assist with custom paint, colour matching and refinishing work for classic cars, muscle cars and hot rods. The right approach will depend on the car, the condition of the body and the finish you want.
