Performance Upgrades

For pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods.

When your car needs more response, more control or better drivability, the upgrade needs to suit the car — not just chase numbers.

Viking Hotrods plans performance upgrades for pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods with the vehicle, the owner and the way the car will be used in mind.

It’s not always about more power

Sometimes the best upgrade is one that makes the car sharper, more responsive, safer or more enjoyable to drive. It might be better handling, improved cooling, stronger brakes, a driveline upgrade or engine work that suits the way the car is actually used.

Whether you are after stronger performance, improved handling or a more reliable setup for weekend drives and events, Viking Hotrods can help plan the right upgrade path.

Upgrades that suit the build.

Older vehicles have different requirements and character. What works on one car may not suit another.

We look at the vehicle, its current setup, previous work, intended use and the owner’s goals before recommending upgrades. The aim is to improve how the car drives, performs and holds together — without losing what makes it feel like your car.

What we cover

Performance upgrades can cover anything from a small improvement to a larger staged plan. Depending on the vehicle and the goal, work may include:

Service inclusions:

  • Brake upgrades
  • Cooling system upgrades
  • Carburettor tuning and setup
  • Exhaust and intake upgrades
  • Support for modified vehicles
  • Performance-focused workshop planning
  • Upgrade work connected to restorations, restomods or custom builds

More Than Just Power

The whole car should feel better.

A good upgrade should improve the way the car drives, not just change one number. Power, handling, braking, cooling and reliability all need to work together.

For pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods, we take the time to understand the car, its history and how it is used before making recommendations.

One Roof, One Plan

All under one roof.

Because Viking Hotrods handles mechanical work, diagnostics, servicing, restoration support, bodywork and custom projects, performance upgrades can be planned as part of the bigger picture.

If an upgrade affects cooling, driveline, brakes, suspension, bodywork or future restoration work, we can help make sure everything works together instead of treating it as a one-off job.
