Mechanical Servicing & Maintenance

Built for classics, muscle cars & hot rods.

These cars can spend a lot of time in the shed. When they do come out for a show, a club run or a special occasion, they need to perform and look the part. At Viking Hotrods, we keep pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods in peak condition from our Bomaderry workshop on the South Coast of NSW.

It’s not the same as servicing a modern car.

Older vehicles need a different approach. You are not just plugging in a scanner and following a computer prompt. You are listening, checking, adjusting and understanding how the car has been built, modified and maintained over time.

From regular servicing and mechanical checks to tuning, brakes, steering, suspension and cooling, Viking Hotrods keeps pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods running properly.

We know what we’re working on.

Pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods come with their own quirks, history and previous work. Some have been modified. Some have been sitting for years. Others are regularly driven and need ongoing care to stay reliable.

Our team works with older vehicles every day, so we understand how to approach them properly, identify what needs attention and help keep them on the road.

Servicing That Actually Means Something

Good servicing is not just ticking boxes. It is about understanding the car, identifying issues early and giving honest advice before small problems turn into bigger ones.

Whether you use your car regularly, bring it out for weekends, or are getting it ready for a specific event, Viking Hotrods can help keep it maintained properly.

Integrated With Diagnostics

Part of a bigger picture.

Mechanical servicing often connects with diagnostics, repairs, performance, bodywork and restoration support. If something does not feel right, we can look beyond the basic service and help identify what is really going on.

This means your car is assessed as a whole, not just treated as a checklist.

Mechanical Servicing & Maintenance FAQs

  • Do you service classic cars?

Yes. Viking Hotrods provides mechanical servicing and maintenance for pre-1990 classic cars, muscle cars and hot rods. This can include general servicing, tuning, brake checks, steering, suspension, cooling systems and ongoing maintenance.

  • Do you work on muscle cars and hot rods?

Yes. We regularly work on pre-1990 muscle cars and hot rods, including servicing, maintenance, repairs, fault-finding and support for modified or custom vehicles.

  • Can you service modified or custom vehicles?

Yes. Many older cars have been modified, restored or changed over time. Viking Hotrods can assess the vehicle, understand the setup and provide servicing or maintenance based on how the car has been built and how it is used.

  • Do you only work on major builds?

No. Viking Hotrods handles both smaller mechanical servicing jobs and larger workshop projects. You do not need to be doing a full build to bring your car in.

  • Can servicing help identify bigger issues before they get worse?

Yes. Regular servicing can help identify problems early, especially with older vehicles where wear, previous modifications or long periods off the road can create hidden issues. We can let you know what needs attention now and what can be planned for later.

  • Do you service clients outside Bomaderry?

Yes. Viking Hotrods is based in Bomaderry on the South Coast of NSW, but we work with owners from across NSW and Australia who are looking for a workshop experienced with pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods.

  • Can you help if my car has been sitting for a long time?

Yes. Cars that have been sitting may need checks across fuel, ignition, brakes, cooling, steering, suspension and general mechanical condition before being driven regularly again. We can inspect the vehicle and recommend the most practical next step.

  • Can you prepare my car for a club event, rego or weekend driving?

Yes. We can help with pre-event checks, road-readiness inspections and maintenance work to help make sure your classic, muscle car or hot rod is ready to be driven and enjoyed.

  • How do I start a project with Viking Hotrods?

The best place to start is a conversation. Tell us about your car, what you’re thinking and where you want to take it. We’ll give you honest advice on the most practical next step, whether it’s servicing, repairs, diagnostics, restoration support or a larger custom build.

  • What types of cars does Viking Hotrods work on?
